TESTIMONIALS
"As someone who tends internalize my emotions and rarely asks for help, I was very hesitant when a friend recommended I work with Bliss during a very challenging personal and professional time of my life. In the midst of wedding planning and sincerely hating the industry I was in, I found that my sense of helplessness to ‘break-into’ a different profession was impeding my ability to enjoy what should be a one of the happiest periods of my life. Interview after interview kept suggesting that I was pigeon-holed where I was, yet I couldn’t seem to become content in the situation so I made one of the best decisions in my career and reached out to Bliss.
One of Bliss’s best qualities is her ability to truly empathize. From our first conversation, I could tell that she understood my perspective, the emotions, and what was driving my need for change. I knew we were off to a good start when our initial meetings were centered on understanding how I got to where I was, the pros/cons of status quo, and what I had already done on my own to improve the situation. She made a point of getting to know me so that her guidance could be customized. And she wanted to know the steps I had already taken, so that together we could take additional steps forward rather than start from the beginning.
She employed a variety of coaching techniques, always pausing to make sure it was working for me. Our conversations were structured and goal-orientated, but her demeanor was that of a caring friend. Sometimes our discussion would stray from the intent, but she was always attuned to whether the stray was productive. In cases where it wasn’t, she would gently put us back on course. I always appreciated how she ensured that every conversation took us one step forward. On occasion, I would have limited updates to provide, but she always found a way to positively utilize our time by bringing up open-items from past chats or commenting on something I had said once that was worth exploring further. It was those instances that gave me comfort that she was truly listening and genuinely concerned for my well-being.
At the end of each meeting I had “homework” to act on. Rather than tell me what I should do, she asked that I define my homework – her way of knowing that I was learning, while also being realistic to what I thought I could accomplish in the timeframe. For me, the structure of accountability worked, but this like everything else was based on my input. Above all else, Bliss wants to make sure the approach is what the individual needs.
Bliss helped me to think outside the box; she helped me regain confidence; and ultimately, her coaching, interview prep, and being my cheer-leader led me to a career I’m very happy in today. She was optimistic when opportunities didn’t arise and ecstatic for any ones that did. I highly recommend Bliss to anyone looking to make a career change, identify their interests, or find a better balance between work emotions and life emotions. Not only does she have many unique perspectives, she helps you to uncover your own unique perspective. I certainly envision seeking Bliss’s guidance in the future – be it for assistance navigating workplace challenges, or when the time comes that I’m unsure of how to balance a profession with family. The impact Bliss had on me is immeasurable." Stephanie E. of Chicago, IL
"When I first started working with Bliss, I had been sitting on a career change idea for more than a year without making any progress. Within a year (during which I also gave birth to a child and relocated to a new state), Bliss helped me to create, analyze and implement a plan of action to start my own company. I was able to generate enough business to quit my job without negative financial ramifications, as well as find a better work-life balance so I could spend more time with my children and still have the career I desired. She helped me accomplish these goals while being sensitive to everything else (the move, a new baby) going on at the same time. In short, during an eventful year where my only goal was to survive with sanity intact, with Bliss' help I was able to make a major career change and manage my entire life rather than it managing me. I am forever grateful and strongly recommend her services." Lisa R. of Kalamazoo, MI
"Words cannot express how much I benefited from my time working with Bliss. Her unwavering support, positive attitude, astute insight, and unique teaching tools and methods were invaluable, and I could not have asked for a more dedicated and authentic individual to guide me during such a challenging time in my life. Bliss tailored her program to my needs and continually refined her process as my situation changed. She took a genuine interest in me, my life, and the direction of my career, and she challenged and pushed me to take a deeper look within myself and to take the daunting first steps to making changes in my life and career path. After extensively evaluating my values, skills, interests, and priorities, I can credit Bliss’s services for making me a more confident, self-assured individual who knows what she wants and how to get it. Bliss was not only my Career Coach, but my confidant and cheerleader. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her and continue to use the skills and wisdom she imparted upon me in my day-to-day life and at my new job. I would recommend Bliss in a heartbeat to anyone looking to enhance their life and advance their career!"

“Bliss is terrific at creating and holding a framework—when I have too many ideas or paths in front of me, she helps me organize my thoughts so I can figure out what my personal and professional values point me toward. Through her natural intuition and depth of professional experience, she creates the space for powerful action.” Diane K., Chicago, IL
"Bliss is a talented and compassionate coach. While working with Bliss, I had a number of life changes: recovery from knee replacement surgery and subsequent return to work; a new job and career change; the death of a parent; difficult family interactions. Bliss helped me in redefining my short and long term goals in each situation, aligning with my values, and acknowledging my feelings. Depending on the circumstances, Bliss was fluid with what type of coaching she used. At times the focus was to process difficult feelings in the present moment, and at other times she was my champion encouraging me to move boldly forward, taking calculated risks with the opportunities presented. Her questions were on-point, and she operates with a strong sense of intuition as well as practicality. She is an excellent listener. She also possesses a sweet sense of humor, which helped me keep my perspective during difficult times. I highly recommend her."
